Does Article Marketing Still Work?

Since the introduction of the Penguin update, the question of whether article marketing still works has become one of the most popular. Like all forms of link building since the introduction of the search engines, the honest answer is that as long as it is done well and done properly it remains a highly viable and extremely beneficial means of promoting a website and generating links.

Links need to be targeted and the directories should be high quality. The best directories will require that your article be well written and highly relevant to the topic so this should be considered a prerequisite when embarking on an article marketing campaign.

The keyword in all forms of link building is “quality”. The article should be quality, the link should be quality, and the directory should be quality. So, too, should the submission itself, which should be done manually rather than using submission software. If you wouldn’t be happy having your customers read the content on your own site then you shouldn’t be willing to submit the article elsewhere.
